Description
Original, early 1960s Crystals LP entitled, "The Crystals Sing The Greatest Hits, Volume 1." This is on the Philles label PHLP-4003. The bad news is that the vinyl has been played quite a bit and there is needle/groove-wear on both sides. It played through without skipping, but there is buzz/crackle on both sides; more on some songs than others. Labels are nice with only very faint spindle marks showing under bright light. The cover, on the other hand, is a beautiful VG++ to M- and it looks super!! No splits, no tears, no creases, no dings, etc. I see just one faint little smudge in the upper-right corner of the back; very slight. The cover is still in the original plastic polywrap that it came in!! This is what they used to seal these LPs in before shrink-wrapping started being used in the mid-1960s. The original store price tag is still intact in the upper-right corner of the front (on the plastic, not on the actual cover). This is really intended for someone looking to upgrade their cover. The vinyl is really just a throw-in bonus. Please review the photos. Offered with no reserve!!
Note: I play these older, heavier, “wider-grooved” LPs with a regular Stanton stylus tracked at 1.5 grams. I do this for two reasons: First, they sound better. Secondly, I find if I use too fine an audiophile stylus, there tends to be more surface noise present and the sound is actually weaker. These older LPs were intended to be played with a regular sylus anyway. Depending on what type of setup you use, you may get slightly lesser--or slightly better--results than me.
