TITLE/ARTIST: Hello and please continue to check out all current and future listings as everything from my personal collection will eventually come up for sale - records from the '50's, '60's, and much more - all "oldies" and all in great condition! Here is one of those early, super rare and highly collectible "Wall Of Sound" LP`s by the Phil Spector discovered/produced female group, The Crystals, from 1963. It is yet another album in very good overall condition - especially the vinyl, but the jacket is okay, too - please read on! This LP - just their 2nd ever release - is on the original, light blue colored, Phillies Label (Phil Spector's label), and is entitled "He's A Rebel". The album includes their super hit title song plus other Crystals hits like, "Uptown", "He's Sure The Boy I Love", and the controversial (banned by many stations) "He Hit Me" - as well as 8 others - all in MONO and all in very nice shape (please view the pictures above for all of the song titles and more). LABEL INFO: This original, light blue Phillies Label (4001) is in very good condition with no serious issues at all - I don't even see all that many spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me that it had only moderate play time. VINYL INFO: Likewise, the vinyl is also shiny, clean, and nice with again, nothing much in serious need of any mention, although there are just a few completely uneventful light surface/paper lines in a couple of places, and two small "bubble-like" marks (one on each side at the very end of the LP), which have no effect on the LP's play other than some light and very distant background "popping" sounds (if you listen closely enough) during just two of the songs of each side - but the music clearly dominates. Otherwise, in my opinion, the vinyl is very clean and nice - and close to perfect. JACKET INFO: Finally, the jacket is also in good overall shape, but not perfect by any means. There are a few small scuff marks in the corner areas, a 2"-3" seam split in the very bottom corner, a 5"-6" moisture mark and tear in the very bottom of the backside (pictured above), and a previous owner's name written in very small script and in ink at the very top corner of the backside (again, pictured above). The jacket's attractive front side shows only some light and early signs of ring wear in a couple of the lighter areas, but is otherwise just fine! Given the high value and collectibility of this piece, I don't think any of this is all that bad - but of course, the final decision is always up to you - the buyer. INTERESTING FACTS: Yes, this extremely hard to find, very collectible LP appears to me to be in nice overall shape, especially for what it is, so please have at it and continue to check this site for more great conditioned "oldies" from my personal collection. As I have already mentioned, over time I am selling off my entire collection, and there are 100's more to get to yet -- of all genre's, sizes, and varieties. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So again, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time.
