The Damned are an English punk band formed in London in 1976.[1][2] They are notable for being the first punk rock band from the UK to release a single ("New Rose"), an album (Damned Damned Damned), and to tour the United States. The Damned later evolved into one of the forerunners of the gothic genre.[3]
They have incorporated numerous styles into their music and image, including: garage rock, psychedelic rock, cabaret, and the theatrical rock of Screaming Lord Sutch and Alex Harvey. Lead singer Dave Vanian's vocal style has been described as similar to a crooner.[4] The Damned have dissolved and reformed many times, with Vanian as the sole constant member. However, the lineups have always included either guitarist Captain Sensible and/or drummer Rat Scabies, who are both founding members. The current line-up includes Vanian, Captain Sensible, Monty Oxy Moron, Pinch and Stu West.

ORIGIN/PROVENANCE: My friend Corey Rusk, who runs Touch & Go Records (and formerly of The Necros), has been cleaning out his storage space and has realized that he really doesn't have any more room for the all doubles and triples of many of the rare records in his collection. He's busy running Touch and Go and doesn't have the time to deal with selling his extras... but they do need to go. So he asked me to help him sell them off. And of course, as a long time friend of Corey and and fan of Touch and Go Records (along with being a 10+ year eBay seller with a perfect feedback rating of 1800+), I jumped at the chance.

SHIPPING: The record will be housed between two pieces of cardboard and then put inside a sturdy mailer which might possibly be recycled (in an effort to save trees). I ship records the way I like them shipped to me. Simple as that. If you live inside the US, shipping is only available by priority mail (due exclusively to less expensive service's unreliability) and tracking is provided free of charge. Outside of the US, airmail rates apply. IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE THE US, DO NOT PAY UNTIL I SEND YOU AN INVOICE! PRIORITY MAIL TO ITALY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.
