Description
- The Doobie Brothers released their third studio album "The Captain And Me" in March 1973 on Warner Bros. Records. This multi-Platinum album includes two of the band's biggest hits in "China Grove" and "Long Train Runnin'." Jeff Baxter, who would join the band the following year, appears on one track.
- This copy of (BS 2694) is from the first pressing in 1973 with the Burbank labels (the earliest had Green labels) and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover still has its original Factory Shrink Wrap largely attached and is easily VG+. Please see the pictures, but note that the photo of the interior gatefold is from another copy. The disc test played cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was produced by Ted Templeman, engineered by Donn Landee, and pressed for Warner Bros. at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. The Side One dead wax is etched BS-2694 40430-A 1A A \S.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
- Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 48 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
