Woman — have been remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original master tapes and feature the original stereo mixes.
THE DOORS
First released in January 1967, The Doors is one of rock music's most famous debuts. It hit #2 in Billboard, and delivered the #1 signature smash "Light My Fire" plus "Break On Through," "The Crystal Ship," and "The End." Voted one of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time – Rated 42/500!
STRANGE DAYS
The follow up to their first album, Strange Days, released in October ’67, is said to be the band's darkest album. Groovy and psychedelic sounds are found throughout this collection of songs which went to #3 and introduced the Doors classics "People Are Strange," "Love Me Two Times" and "Strange Days." Voted one of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time – Rated 409/500!
WAITING FOR THE SUN
With their third album, 1968's Waiting For The Sun, The Doors managed to take a mellower turn, delivering some fine melodic ballad rock songs like "Hello, I Love You," "Love Street" and "Wintertime Love" while still retaining their former power with tracks like "The Unknown Soldier," "Spanish Caravan" and the apocalyptic "Five To One." The Doors' newfound sensibility not only helped the band produce one of their most diverse releases, it resulted in their first and only #1 album.
THE SOFT PARADE
The Doors mined new territory with their 1969 release The Soft Parade incorporating brass, strings and even a full orchestra into the mix but with the same results as it became their fourth Top 10 album in a row. The album climbed to #6 on the strength of the huge hit “Touch Me.” The Doors' mixture of Rock, Blues and Jazz combined with vocalist Jim Morrison's poetic lyrics and powerful vocals created a musical Molotov cocktail that could make your senses explode!
MORRISON HOTEL
Released in 1970 in the wake of Jim Morrison’s infamous indecency bust, the Doors next-to-last album Morrison Hotel found the band reinventing themselves as one of the greatest bar bands ever with a thrilling bluesy, no-frills approach and harder edged sound. The album shot up to #4 on the charts on the strength of the standards "Waiting For The Sun," "Roadhouse Blues" "Peace Frog" and "Ship Of Fools."
L.A. WOMAN
Released shortly before Jim Morrison's death in Paris, 1971's L.A. Woman was the first Doors album to not feature production from long time collaborator Paul Rothchild. The rawer, more live feel marks a return to the blues roots from which the band originally emerged and it delivered the signature songs “Love Her Madly,” “Riders On The Storm” and the title track. Voted one of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time – Rated 364/500!
