Description
THE DOORS
Title : L.A. Woman Label : Elektra Catalogue No : K 42090
Matrix : K 42090 A1//B1 Issue : UK Complete 1st Press
This is the rare UK 1st Press of 'L.A. Woman' by The Doors. This press is complete with the earliest A1//B1 matrix, the original butterfly Elektra label, the original yellow inner sleeve and earliest UK die-cut window 'Patents Pending' Shorewood Packaging sleeve.
The record is in Excellent condition. When examined under a strong light the vinyl on each side has the most wonderful high gloss, there is no whitening of the grooves at all. There are just a couple of very light marks on Side 2, but nothing significant at all. The sound is exceptionally vibrant, the vocals are sharp and extremely clear. There are moments of slight noise but it still sounds superb.
The Elektra label is in Excellent condition. It is bright and very clean. The colours are vivid, the black text is sharp, the white is bright and the image is completely unworn. There is only light spindle wear.
The yellow printed inner sleeve is in Excellent condition. It is still exceptionally bright and completely clean. There is a small split on the bottom edge but the edges are still very firm and the image is sharp and entirely unworn.
The Shorewood Packaging die-cut sleeve is in Excellent condition. The printed acetate is entirely intact and shows no sign of age at all. The card is very solid and the edges are very firm and completely unworn. There are just a couple of creases. The red is bold and the white embossed text is still as bright and clean as the day it was printed. The whole sleeve is in exceptionally solid fantastic original condition.
