"STRANGE DAYS"
1967
1st UK MONO pressing
on the red ELEKTRA Label
EKL 4014
EKL 4014 A1 & EKL 4014 B1
1st Pressing Matrix Numbers
Cover: Fully laminated (both sides) non-gatefold 1st pressing UK cover in Excellent+ condition. This is the 1st pressing EKS stereo cover with the gold lettering 'stereo and mono' sticker on the rear. This sticker was used widely in the UK to denote that the cover could be used for both stereo & mono pressings of a record, particularly as mono records were being phased out in favour of stereo. It was therefore common in 1967/68 to get mono records in stereo covers and vice versa.
Lyric insert: This original lyric insert is impossible to find in nice condition due to the flimsy thin paper that it is printed on. This is the best I have ever owned and it rates as Excellent. No seam splits and no writings or doodles. All it has is a quarter inch repairable nick at near the base of the rear plus some light creasing - see photos.
Labels: Excellent+. No writings, stickers or doodles.
Vinyl: Play tested. Looks Near Excellent with a nice sheen. Plays Excellent. Lovely clear mono sound. Only light background static here and there in the quieter moments. One of the best I have heard in a long time.
Signed for Postage:
£4.50 (UK) £10 (EUROPE) & £15 (REST OF THE WORLD)
Gradings.......
Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
