THE DOORS STRANGE DAYS 1967 ELEKTRA EKL4014 MONO 1ST PRESS SHRINK MISPRINT COVER
Very early Mono example of The Doors Strange Days. The issue includes an Elektra '68 two-sided five panel catalog booklet, which came only with the very early copies of Strange Days as a promotional campaign and which Elektra Records placed inside the cover, before the album was sealed. The catalog has the titles, released by Elektra Records in 1967-1968, including a photo of The Doors and information about their debut album with the indicated Mono and Stereo catalog number EKL-4007 / EKS-74007. The Strange Days album is indicated by an asterisk as a new release in the catalog and also contains the Mono and Stereo catalog numbers EKL-4014 / EKS-74014. 1st misprint Mono EKL-4014 cover with the Stereo EKS-74014 catalog number on the spine remains in its original shrink wrap and is Near Mint condition, only having some light creasing at the top left corner. The album includes an original custom Strange Days paper inner sleeve with a photo of The Doors and lyrics in Near Mint condition. The vinyl was pressed at the Columbia Records, Pitman Pressing Plant and has the following matrix numbers: EKL 4014A (CP) / EKL 4014B (CP). The majority of these Mono copies are found "destroyed", but not this copy, which is in great condition, with Side 1 being Near Mint and Side 2 in Excellent condition with a warm pleasant analog Mono sound. The labels are also in Near Mint condition and don't have spindle marks.
