The Monophonic copies of The Doors's second album "Strange Days" come across rarely, but finding a Monophonic Monarch, Los Angeles pressing is practically impossible. This is a completely unique copy. Besides it being a very rare Monarch, LA pressing, this copy comes with an original Elektra Records fold-out 5-panel 68' catalog, which contains the first two The Doors' releases, which came only with the earliest 1st pressings. In addition to this, I'm sure you won't find a copy in the original shrink wrap, which contains a large clear hype "The Doors Strange Days" banner sticker with the Stereo EKS-74014 catalog number. For Elektra Records it was a common practice to use Stereo covers for Mono copies. These covers came with the sticker correcting the format as seen on this copy, which has a "Monaural" sticker underneath the shrink wrap at the top left corner.

Original 1st print Elektra Records gold Monarch, Los Angeles pressing labels with the Mono EKL-4014 catalog number. Original inner sleeve comes with a picture of the band on one side and the song lyrics on the other with the misprint Stereo EKS-74014 catalog number at the bottom. The trail-off vinyl contains all of the identifiers of a Monarch pressing, including a "MR" stamped inside a circle on both sides. The full matrix numbers are: Side 1 - EKL 4014A (MON) MR in Circle Delta 11089 Ray Hagerty's Signature; EKL 4014B (MON) MR in Circle Delta 11089-X Ray Hagerty's Signature. The cover is in Excellent Plus, having a light bumping to the top right corner. The shrink wrap in intact, but has two tears, one at the top right corner on the front and another one at bottom left. The shrink wrap also has a light split at the bottom left corner. The vinyl with a glossy lustre is in Excellent Minus condition with Side 1 having a couple of very light non-feelable hairlines that don't affect the playback. The labels are in Near Mint Minus condition. The Elektra '68 catalog and "Strange Days" inner sleeve are practically Mint.
