Around the time of the first covid lockdown in 2020 I started to collect vinyl records. The plan was to buy a turntable. 12 months later I have collected over 120 records BUT still no turntable! To be honest, I've been enjoying streaming and digital sourced music generally along with the practical benefits that these music sources bring. I also didn't plan for the space records take up! I can't see me buying a turntable, and instead have started buying SACD's. I've really enjoyed the process of collecting vinyl despite not being able to play them! However, slowly I will start to part with them, a few at a time, as and when I feel like it. 90% of my records are audiophile quality pressings from the likes of MFSL, Analogue Productions, Speakers Corner, ORG etc. Despite having never played any of my records I still get pleasure from having them!
