The Doors released their double-disc compilation album "Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine" in January 1972 on Elektra Records. It was the band's first release following the July 1971 death of Jim Morrison. The 22 tracks include nearly all their hits and was a chart success that was certified Gold. It was out-of-print for many years.

This copy of (8E-6001) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover still has its original Factory Shrink Wrap and is near-mint. Please see the pictures, but note that the photo of the interior gatefold is from another copy. There are some scuffs but both discs test played cleanly without skips and are easily VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was engineered by producer Bruce Botnick and this copy was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. The Side One dead wax is etched /8E-6001-A CSM.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
