'YOU'RE STILL MINE b/w HOOKEY'
on the original SPARK RECORDS 45 SRL 1024 from 1969
A Psychedelic pop gem here, in this great record on a cool lable!
A seldom seen single, this UK slice of grinding wah-fuzz prog-style guitar
has a full-blown pop-infusing melody/hook that might actually have been radio friendly for commercial Radio 1 airplay. However, the band had a fuzzbox and wah, and they weren't afraid to use them.
It meant that the heavier prog-psych tone didn't suit their novelty-leaning tastes so much. Sadly, it meant that the more worthy records of the day were ignored, while tripe about mouldy dough or falsetto pseudo-soul got played to a less-than-musical death by sycophantic blitherers telling us their views about nothing interesting!
Anyway, before I grind the amalgum off my teeth, here's a great rare single for you. Decent pop attitude, with serious heavy sike instrumentation, and on an obscure but cool lable.
The vinyl looks MINT overall, and plays like it was just pressed yesterday
I'll grade NM, since it is not 'unplayed' (and I turned it up loud too :>)
Lables are very decent NM, and it comes in the original (no logo) Spark sleeve.
