THE EXCEPTIONAL EXCEPTION 1969 ORIGINAL VINYL LP

 

Sleeve Condition: Ex with no writing, stickers, defect or damage.

 

Record Condition: Very occasional background noise but mostly a solid Ex and plays fine throughout.


Brilliant and rare uk psych/prog LP recorded in 1968 and released early 69.  The Exceptional Exception hailed from birmingham and released four singles and this one, rare album on the president label.


All the tracks are original, led by gutsy vocals, psych guitar and occasional horns.  An extraordinary blend of quite moody prog/rock and folk/rock it is a travesty that the band received little or no attention or acclaim, particularly for this release.  Fairport convention and Fotheringay later welcomed a couple of member of the band. "Dont Torture Your Mind" features some stunning guitar work.  Standout track is ‘Tailor Made Blues’, moody, gutsy, builder of a track so typical of just that narrow slice or late ‘60’s explorative rock.
