Description

THE FABULOUS RONETTES (featuring VERONICA)

Rare original UK 1964 12" LP 1st on LONDON plum label, MONO HA-U 8212

Matrix Numbers : Side 1  ACPL-2674-1B, stampers 1,KT,1;  Side 2   ACPL-2675-1B, stampers 1,1

A lovely example of this UK 1960's soul classic, in original sleeve

Both sides of the vinyl gleam! The lacquered sheen is fully in evidence and a joy to behold and the overall appearance of both sides of the vinyl is truly excellent. Look closely (and you do have to look very closely, and in good light) and the odd wispy surface hairline is in evidence but even then barely discernible.

The James Upton outer sleeve is in excellent condition, with original colouring intact and undamaged laminate on the front side. There is a hint of age discolouration towards the edges but nothing really untoward. The spine is nicely intact with all writing clearly visible. the corners remain well defined and the edges suffer from no rubbing or scuffing at all. There are just a few very light, surface 1cm creases adjacent and perpendicular to the spine but these are purely cosmetic. All writing on the reverse side is totally legible with no unwanted marks or writing. Truly excellent!

The overall quality of the audio is excellent. There is the occasional, very light and intermittent hint of background crackle but each are barely noticeable, and on side 1 I detected two very light clicks towards the end of track 2.  Fabulous Phil Spector production with twelve iconic tracks that are truly ageless and make for a great listen.

Each label is excellent. There are a few light, surface only spindle marks around the centre holes (only really visible when held up to a bright light) but no unwanted writing or other blemishes. Near perfect.

Comes complete with original inner sleeve which suffers from some creasing towards the bottom two corners, but no splits or tears and remains fully functional.

The track listing is :

Side 1:

1. (WALKING) IN THE RAIN

2. DO I LOVE YOU?

3. SO YOUNG

4. (THE BEST PART OF) BREAKING UP

5. WHAT'D I SAY

Side 2 :

1.BE MY BABY

2. YOU BABY

3. BABY, I LOVE YOU

4. HOW DOES IT FEEL?

5. WHEN I SAW YOU

6. CHAPEL OF LOVE

A lovely copy of an increasingly hard to find classic!

If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige.

If this record interests you then take a look at my other listings for more 60's and 70's classic vinyl.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for more than 45 years and have amassed a huge collection covering a varied genre, but mostly of 1960's and 70's origin. I worked in IT for 22 years before doing a complete career change to teaching Maths in a high school a the ripe old age of 45 - probably the best career move that I ever made. I took great joy in indulging the "kids" in my eclectic collection of 60's and 70's vinyl, even once dedicating a whole PSE session to the Genesis classic ""Foxtrot".  But now I am retired and a combination of space requirements and a need to help fund my retirement has prompted me to "rationalise" my record collection and sell many of my much loved gems. My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I'll sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl cardboard mailer along with at least two cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in removing the record from the outer sleeve in order to prevent sleeve damage in transit, and for items that sell for over £40 to non-UK bidders I insist upon postal insurance so please wait for an invoice before paying. I do NOT profiteer from postage costs. I DO take great care in minimising all risk thereby ensuring, as far as possible, that your purchase reaches it's destination in exactly the same condition as when I post it. Richard
