Description
THE FAIRIES - " DON'T MIND / BABY DON'T ", HMV (POP 1445) 1965.
Super rare original 1965 UK freakbeat/garage/early psyche single.
CONDITION:
VINYL - Apart from the labels, which are both pretty clean with just the lightest of spindle trails, both sides of this single are in markedly different condition so have been graded seperately.
SIDE B = V.G.- (Has some light surface marks which will have little or no effect on playback. But this side also has one more serious mark where I would guess it was dropped once. Also, this side of the record has obviously been played a lot more than the B side and as such has a bit more surface noise during the beginning of the song and the overall sound is a little harsher - not full blown distortion, but definitely not as clear as the other side. The audible result of these defects translates into some surface noise and a few clicks at the very beginning which is then replaced by a dull thunk on every rotation from the more serious mark. This has passed by about 40% the way through the record and from there only that very slight harshness affects it)
SIDE A = V.G.+ (there is a bit of surface noise during the silent run-in but once the music kicks in it generally plays strongly and pretty clean. There was the occasional faint background click or crackle, but nothing serious and nothing that ruined the listening experience IMHO. Doesn't suffer any distortion, harshness, groove damage or other damage relating to extreme overplaying or previous playback on a terrible record player. Still a good honest playing copy of this track)
My own personal opinion on this record is that I really like the B side and don't really like the A. So for my taste this 45 would be a perfect opportunity good pick up a decent enough playing copy of the side I like for a lot less than clean copies of this single always sell for. If you really like the A side or both sides, you would do best to read my description carefully and reign in your max bids accordingly.
SLEEVE = N/A (plain white paper sleeve as original company sleeve was not present - see photo)
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!)
NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.
ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH!
HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!
Update: I have now dug out an old company sleeve to add to this auction and make this single a bit more complete - see new photo
