* Reissue - remastered from the original source tapes - includes an insert and a digital download code - originally released in 1982
* The fall of 1981 found the Washington, D.C. punk scene in one of the first of many fallow periods when a number of active bands broke up at the same time. S.O.A., Minor Threat, Red C and The Untouchables had all split up, and this resulted in a number of the musicians reorganizing. Mike and Ivor from S.O.A. (Ivor had taken over the drums for Simon towards the end of the band) formed a new band with Alec of The Untouchables singing and another Wilson High School kid, Chris Bald, on bass. They called themselves The Faith and played their first show at H.B. Woodlawn High School in November '81. Eddie, of The Untouchables, joined Faith at the beginning of 1983 to play second guitar. While Minor Threat is often held up as the preeminent D.C. band of the early years, for many of the people living here it was the Faith that they felt the strongest connection to, and it was a sad day when they played their last show.
* Thirty miles north of Washington there is a town called Columbia, one of the first planned-communities built in the U.S. and, in retrospect, the perfect birthplace for a band as completely chaotic as Void. Their D.C. debut was in 1980 at the first Wilson Center show, a marathon 15-band affair largely organized by the Bad Brains. When Void started a song, it was as if each member was playing his own parts as fast as humanly possible, but not necessarily together. To some, it may have seemed like complete cacophony, but to those in the know it was music on a higher level.
