The music stems from the good side of THE VELVETS and THE MODERN LOVERS, is influenced by that late 70's New York vibe, and is of course heavily rhythm based. The modern equivalent would be YO LA TENGO, who are far closer to "The Feelies" than they are to the oft quoted "TELEVISION". In fact if you like YO LA TENGO and indeed if you like SONIC YOUTH I would guarantee that you'll love this.
