THE FOOL "THE FOOL"
MERCURY RECORDS Cat# SR 61178
STEREO US Original LP

The late 1960's progressive psych era has spawned some especially interesting recordings, example of which is right here in THE FOOL only LP.
Quite a playful outfit, they were certainly artistic in their calling, and forged their own style in both paintings and music! This album produced by Graham Nash is what might be called 'raga' music, and it's definitely quintessential hippy sounding. Perhaps they could (only?) be compared with 'Hapsash And The Coloured Coat'.
They had caught the attention in the music scene for their cool art and design - and among their work was Eric Clapton's Gibson SG guitar when he was with CREAM, the exterior of The BEATLES' APPLE Boutique (which caused controversy at the time, with the neighbours! ), and promotion posters.
Also The Incredible String Band had an lp cover painted by them
This is quite sought-after among sixties pop and rock recordings, but didn't sell that well due to being on a very obscure label and not well promoted.
Anyway, it's now well thought of among psychedelia & 'acid folk' collectors and BEATLES archive enthusiasts as a period piece.
CONDITION;
The VINYL is Excellent, but there is a a small area of scratches on side 1 that sound for a few revolutions (about 10 seconds).
Great shine, and a decent playing disc otherwise overall.
The LABLES are EXCELLENT, with a drill hole.
The CARD COVER is VG++, some light wear, also bearing the drill hole.
