Description
Rare UK limited edition (500) reissue of The Game's "The Addicted Man b/w Help Me Mummy’s Gone" Parlophone promo 45 RPM 7” single. This is a highly coveted 1966 Freakbeat 45 that was banned by the BBC almost instantly upon release. Genuine copies sell for over 1k (on the rare occasion that one shows up for sale). This is great garage, pre punk with a slight dash of early psych.
While the banning of this record was due to misunderstanding of the lyrics, it was still banned and also then subsequently limited in release by Parlophone. The song is actually an anti drug song but the powers that be didn’t pay that much attention and ruined the band. They cancelled the airing of the song on Juke Box Jury and it was all downhill from there. Shameful because this is a great 45 with a cool vibe and these lads were really young at the time and their story is very unique including the odd circumstances of their getting signed to Parlophone.
Vinyl looks unplayed and is near mint.
