THE GLENN MILLER STORY Rare 1950's Jazz Music Show on Two AFRTS 16" Radio Transcription Discs

Major Glenn Miller (March 1, 1904 – missing in action December 15, 1944) was an American jazz musician (trombone), arranger, composer, and bandleader in the swing era. He was one of the best-selling and most respected recording artists of the 1930’s and 1940’s, leading one of the best known Jazz "Big Bands". While he was traveling to entertain U.S. troops in France during World War II, Glenn Miller disappeared in bad weather over the English Channel.

This one hour 1950'S Armed Forces radio show tells the complete story of this amazing Jazz musician through rare early recordings. It includes a very rare and exclusive interview with Don Haynes who was Glenn Miller's personal manager and one of the last people to ever speak to him. This show is hosted and narrated by noted Jazz Historian and Record Collector Andy Mansfield and was part of the AFRTS radio series called "America's Popular Music". This is show number 254 in the series.

These two 16" Radio Transcriptions are in Excellent condition with few if any visible scuffs or scratches. These discs sound great and are still very glossy. They are not warped or chipped and play fine. Each Radio Transcription disc has two 30 minute radio shows, so you get a total of 2 hours of great entertainment from the Golden Age of Radio.
