THE GRATEFUL DEAD: ANTHEM OF THE SUN / WS 1749 Green Label Original First Press

We are pleased to offer Anthem of the Sun, The Grateful Dead,   the first & original pressing from 1968 on Warner Bros. Seven Arts Records WS 1749. This is the green label release, with the W7 logo (see label photo).

The popularity & high regard for this album is such that  it has its own page on Wikipedia. Here is some of what it says:

"Anthem of the Sun is the second studio album by the Grateful Dead, released in 1968. It is the first album to feature second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the band in September 1967. In 2003, the album was ranked number 287 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time."

THE VINYL:  EX+ :  Glossy & lightly played, there is a faint hairline at the end of side 1, & one light mark on side 2. Bright labels with the blue "W7" inside the orange box.

THE COVER:  EX+ :  Just misses NM as some light edgewear &  minor corner wear is evident. Seams are all intact; no writing or stains. BRIGHT front cover colour (the Dead NEVER spared the colour on their covers). One of the characteristics of the original first pressing is the absence of track A1-IV from the listing in the back liner song titles (although it is present on the label of the disc- see photos).         

Although there is a partial lower seam split, the original Warner Bros.- Seven Arts Records inner sleeve is included. I have placed the disc in a plastic sleeve to better protect its superb condition.
