Bio / Comments : Since their inception in 1986, THE HANGMEN have never stopped bringing their raw, Punk Rock n' Roll sound to the people. They have toured w/ Social Distortion, Supersuckers, X and many more. Their song "Wild Beast" was recently selected by DODGE to promote their UConnect interface in a worldwide ad campaign. Linear notes include testimonials from Mike Ness of Social Distortion, Keith Morris of the Circle Jerks/Black Flag, Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers, Rob Younger of Radio Birdman fame and more!

Surprised these guys are still around. They had a big buzz going, playing dirty Rock 'n' Roll that mixed the Dolls/Heartbreakers, Stones, Stooges, Aerosmith, and AC/DC. They soon signed to Capitol and released a neutered eponymous LP in 1989, becoming the 10,000th band to suddenly "have their guts ripped out of them" (their description), i.e. sold out the minute they signed to the big boys. Their second LP was refused by the label (the usual karmic penalty), and the band floundered. Singer Bryan Small and mates battled heroin and obnoxious rock star posing for 11 years. but somehow they kept it going.

Bryan Small was the only constant member over the years and somehow he met MIKE NESS of SOCIAL DISTORTION, who produced the latest outcome of the Hangmen "Lost Rocks".

This here is their EPONYMOUS FIRST album on Capitol. It's nearly impossible to find on vinyl nowadays. There's one cover on this f..... fantastic album: "Slow Death" by the equally great FLAMIN' GROOVIES.

By the way, beside the leader and only constant member of the HANGMEN BRYAN SMALL, the drummer on this album, LENNY MONTOYA once was a member of another very interesting and great LA band THE LEAVING TRAINS, led by the controversial "FALLING" JAMES MORELAND. But that's another story.

This album comes from my own collection and is in a condition you'll hardly find again.
