Direct from the producer of the "Resurrection" label (from 30 years ago!) manufacturer of the earliest reissue pressings of 60's garage 'monsters' ...

The HA'PENNY'S - 'Love Is Not The Same"
The band that precceded the Rising Storm as school rock group at Phillips Academy. The Ha'Pennys took a more garage/Stones/punk edged approach to their 1966 Lp, which is filled with raw 'now sounds' of 1966 fed through a charming basement lo-fi production, tilted with rave-up aspirations. Their self penned title track ("Love Is Not The Same") is one of the highlights with a sparse yet moody delivery that remains quite infectious. As well, they stamp their own formidable sound quite efficently on garage greats by the Animals, Them, Beatles, Yardbirds, Rolling Stones & Byrds with reverb & tremelo guitar as lead instrument behind bass, rhythm guitar, drums & vocal accompaniment ... no other studio enhancements were used. If this were a 'Justice' records release it would be in the top five of that labels storied roster...
