THE HEAT : IN THE FLESH EP

Crystal disc ht111 - 1989
blank silver label on second side of the disc.

A truly MEGA-rare hard rock / heavy metal record, undoubtably made in small numbers, from Issaquah (a Seattle Suburb) Washington, in 1989.

About the Heat and Steel Sea..

Steel Sea existed between 1983/ 84, together with drummer Brian Shanklin, they produced 4 songs, two of which were number one and number two on local radio. Steel Sea was probably one of the biggest Seattle bands to have never been.

Steel Sea changed its name to The Heat in the late 80s, With Eric Snyder of Second Coming taking over guitar. Vocalist Howard Dee Gray (AKA HD or Blade) left the band in the early 90s. The Heat brought Joey Furlan in on Vocals and changed the name yet again to Bone. They played the Seattle scene for a couple of years before disbanding for good.

The sound is very heavy, blocks of guitars over raging drums, not too much guitar noodling..More akin to the NW "Grunge" sound (loosely) than hair or glam metal,
a bit more leanings towards commercial sound, but without the cheeziness, excellent solid rockin' from these dudes.

Songs:

A)Don't fall in love with a stranger
Tiger on Fire

B)Black Lace (Black Mail) - (most likely the  Steel Sea song)
Never Want to Say Goodbye

Players :

Vocals - Blade Gray

Guitar - Kelly Gray

Bass - Chazz Miller

Drums - Brian Shanklin

Featuring Kelly Gray who is on this one is the very well established metal producer and player in the band Queensryche in the late 1990's.

This record was probably produced as a sort of promotional copy to further the success of this group...

Recorded at London Bridge Studio, Seattle, that has hosted and recorded many influential artists, producers and engineers since 1985;  including Alice in Chains,
Pearl Jam's "10", and more.

The cover is EX, excellent condition.

The vinyl is EX+, like new visually and in playback quality.  Play graded on a musichall mmf005 turntable with goldring cartridge.

Complete with a hot metal chick on the front.

A very rare collectible, try to find this one somewhere else!
