RARE original Jamaican pressing of The Heptones` roots reggae classic "Night Food", released on Harry J Records (1977).
First released on Island Records in the UK in 1977, this is an original Jamaican copy on Harry J Records from 1978. Not sure about pressing status, but bought brand spanking new in the early-to-mid eighties. This record has been played exactly once.
"Yet while there may have been a lack of fresh material, new takes on compositions originally recorded for Coxsone Dodd are approached with the sort of heart and soul followers had come to expect from The Heptones. Likewise, more recent compositions like "Country Boy," "Book of Rules," and "Mama Say" are given superb readings. Concessions to the mainstream are made by way of occasional string overdubs (...). In the end, however, the combination of mid-'70s songs and older material presented in a new setting resulted in one of the finest collections of Heptones compositions and performances on a studio set." - Nathan Bush, allmusic.com

MINT(-) RECORD in as-new condition. Bought by yours truly and played exactly once.
- Perfect, untouched vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be compared with the more-often-than-not substandard vinyl on offer on eBay, this item is in honestly-graded MINT(-) condition: You will not find another copy of "Night Food" as nice as this one - especially at this bargain price. "True value for money" is the motto here!
