SLEEVEFront board and Inner Gatefold EX
CLEAN with NO writing rips tears stickers or remains.The laminate is bright and shiny with minimal rubbingwear and just a couple of very light creases.The major flaw with this sleeve is that at some point in its life a piece of tape has been applied to the top edge and has been removed much later after a lot of ageing,and a new strip applied.This has been done without cleaning off the residual brown glue first,(and it isnt as if it is hard to do.A cottonwool ball and some surgical spirit and you can do amazing things with a laminated sleeve,why do you think there are so many lovely clean 60's G&L sleeves about) the result being a light brown line along the top.
Rear board EX+ REAR white card is nice and clean with no user markings very light ageing and storage wear. Flipbacks EX THE flipbacks are clean and complete Spine EX+ NICE uncrushed spine with no laminate wear or loss and nice clear black on white lettering Edges VG Bottom edge has minimal wear with no laminate wear or cracking.Top edge,see above Opening EX+ OPENING has very light wear and very light usage Corners EX Corners have light wear with a little rounding INNER /EXTRASN/A
DETAILSThis late 1967 album found the Hollies making some modest adjustments to the psychedelic era: occasionally trippy studio effects, a sitar on their most psychedelic track ("Maker"), songs that didn't always deal with boy-girl relationships. In fact, however, the group's focus remained where it usually was: modest but pleasing, similar-sounding catchy tunes with high harmonies and strumming guitars. It's not remarkable or essential, but it's certainly pleasant enough, and a bit better than their earlier 1967 LP, Evolution, with some of their better album-only cuts ("Postcard," "Pegasus," "Butterfly," "Away Away Away"). With some track alterations, the record was issued in the U.S. as Dear Eloise/King Midas in Reverse; the U.K. edition, as collectors should note, has a few songs that were never released in the States ("Pegasus," "Elevated Observations?," "Try It").
