Description
You are bidding on a copy of The Idle Race’s 1968 LP “Birthday Party” released in the UK on Liberty. This concept album featured songs written by the band’s founder member Jeff Lynne, who went on to great successes with The Move and the Electric Light Orchestra.
This UK first pressing was significantly different to the US version, and features a gatefold sleeve with a Sgt Pepper style “Guest List” of British TV, radio & music personalities of the time, including Ringo Starr, Scott Walker, Jimmy Savile & countless others.
This is the original Stereo issue LBS 83132.
This copy of the LP has some damage to the top left hand corner of the outer sleeve & a split to the last inch of the bottom of the spine, with mottling of the front and rear covers. See photo for details of condition. If you would like high res photos please email me.
The vinyl is in VG+ condition, and was bought at a record fair in Manchester some years ago, but the album has remained unplayed by me since then, and kept in a protective sleeve.
A very hard to find record these days.
