The Inimitable Sir Thomas - His Master's Voice ASD 518 - 1963 #cr#
Description
- 12 inch, stereo, LP. 33 1/3 rpm
- This was issued in 1963 on the 'His Master's Voice' label
- A number of works by various performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and one by L'Orchestre National De La Radiodiffusion Francaise, all conducted by Sir Thomas Beecham, Bart, CH
- Track listing.
Side 2:- Track 1 Summer Evening (Delius); Track 2 Prelude to 'Irmelin'; Track 3 Legend No 3 (Dvorak); Track 4 Symphonic Dance No 2 (Grieg)
- All tracks performed by the RPO apart from *
- Side 1, track 1 was originally recorded in 1955, side 2 tracks 1 & 2 in 1956 and the rest in 1959. This recording is the first published performance of side 1, track 2 and side 2, tracks 3 & 4.
- The front sleeve features a reproduction of a portrait of Sir Thomas by John Aubrey
- The rear sleeve has a full track listing with detailed notes by Harold Rutland
- Cream 'His Master's Voice' label with catalogue number ASD 518
- Paper inner sleeve, with plastic lining, with a list of EMI classical recording artists
- Made in Great Britain
- Matrix marks:- Side 1 2YEA 675-5
- Side 2 2YEA 676-2
Condition
- The record is in excellent condition with no signs of warping and no apparent marks or scratches (We have not been able to play the LP so we cannot attest to playback quality).
- The outer sleeve is intact and clean with the spine and edges intact and with only a few slight creases, some slight ringwear, a little bit of wear at the opening and corners and slightly grubby at the flipbacks (see photos).
- The inner sleeve is clean and fully intact, but heavily creased at the corners (see photos)
- I would grade this record as 'Excellent' as per Record Collector's grading guide (see http://recordcollectormag.com/advertise/listings-help)
