Desirable, vocal ska and early rocksteady by The Itals (aka George Whyte, Lloyd Watt and Clovis Williams) backed by Studio One house band, The Soul Brothers aka Sound Dimension aka The Soul Vendors with players on the scene like Roland Alphonso - Lloyd Brevett - Jackie Mittoo - Lynn Taitt et al. Both sides are fabulous examples of this crossover genre. Soulful lead vocals with counterpoint vocal harmony over a slower ska - early rocksteady backbeat fusing mento and calypso with American inspired jazz and r&b. Hypnotic rhythms with lots of jazzy horns (cool solo midway) and dub bassline on "New Loving" and a more keyboard led beat to the seldom heard "I Told You Little Girl" The vocal group style should appeal to doo wop collectors too. This release is also a rare Syd Bucknor production by Coxone Dodd's cousin and studio engineer ;) Great for DJs! Disc cut loud with big production sound. Original 3-prong centre intact

RECORD - shiny, strong VG with pops and ticks in places (mostly to intro of sideA due to an old needle scratch mark) / hairlines and light scuffs elsewhere / disc cut loud with big production sound / natural background noises and some other soft crackle but remember, the original Jamaican recordings used by this label were never high quality / original 3-prong centre intact
SLEEVE - not graded - generic white card sleeve has light wear
LABEL - bright looking with some rub marks (mostly to outer edges) / minimal age discoloration / a few faint old dirt marks from storage

Mp3 created via a Vestax portable with protective slipmat and basic Audacity software but records always sound much better on a proper hi-fi system ;)
