Up for auction is an original, signed and numbered by Norman Granz 78 record set and photo folio. The 78 set is complete. "The Jazz Scene", recorded on 6 12" Mercury 78RPM records. The records are "The Duke Ellington Sides", "The Neal Hefti Sides", "The Lester Young Side & The Coleman Hawkins Side", The Ralph Burns Side & The George Handy Side", The Charlie Parker Side & The Willie Smith Side" and The Machito Side & The Bud Powell Side". The folio measures 12 1/2 X 15 inches and is loose leaf bound. It has many full page photographs of the jazz greats of the time and a beautiful double size fold out drawing by David Stone Martin. This is number 2083 of 5000 signed and numbered by Norman Granz. The records range in condition from EX to VG- (with some hairline scratches). The pages have yellowed with age. The black and white photographs have only light shelf wear. The cloth cover has some fading along the edges. Complete copy of this hard to find jazz portfolio. Because the weight exceeds 4 pounds, USPS Priority Mail is the least expensive overseas shipping option. Jazz rarity with a low reserve.
