Description

Please note I'm not a record dealer, I’m downsizing and sadly my small record collection from the late 60's and early 70's has to go.  Hopefully I’ve listed all the necessary information below however if you have any questions or queries please email and I'll do my best to answer them

The Jimi Hendrix Experience

  • Electric Ladyland
  • Track Record 613008/9 stereo recording, year 1968
  • Matrix / run-out: A-Side run-out, stamped 61300XX8 A//1  124 (the XX references a scratched out 8, then 9 from the original stamping)
  • Matrix / run-out: D-Side run-out, stamped 613008 B?2  420 111
  • Matrix / run-out: B-Side run-out, stamped 613009 A?2  420 111
  • Matrix / run-out: C-Side run-out, stamped 613009 B//2  420 111
  • Both vinyl’s are clean and untarnished however there a few light surface scratches on all sides.  I played the album before listing and there was noticeable static at the beginning of each side, and there are a few dust pops and crackles, but no loud clicks or jumps.  I'm sure these vinyl's will be enhanced by a professional clean, my record deck is certainly not top-end and I've therefore rated the play as good
  • The labels on all four sides are in near perfect condition, with the lightest of spindle marks
  • I completed quite a bit of pre-reading about this particular album and my understanding is that there are five iterations of the 1st UK Track Record pressing.  And I believe this to be the 4th version of that pressing as defined by the matrix/run-out numbers and sleeve layout/printing
  • The gatefold-laminated sleeve is printed by Ernest J Day & Co.  The outer photo featuring the naked women has the noticeably ‘greener’ flesh tones, later pressings are much warmer colours. Inside the gatefold there is a large colour photo of Jimi Hendrix with two smaller sepia photos of Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell which are centered with all white text and the print credit
  • The laminated edges are blistered are scuffs and wear marks on the corners and spine, but the cover is in generally excellent condition considering its age.  The vinyl inner sleeves are not original
  • When I played this before listing I reckon that's its first play in at least 40 years

  • I will package in a LP mailer and despatch via Royal Mail Signed For service. I’m afraid I cannot accept overseas bids for this item
