Smash Hits was the first compilation from The Jimi Hendrix Experience - released in 1968 only four months after the band's second studio album, Axis: Bold as Love, and while they were working on their third.
Containing their first four UK singles (and their respective B-sides) in addition to four standout tracks from their LP Are You Experienced, Smash Hits became exactly that - a #5 album in the UK and one that had a long chart life.
It also marked the first appearance on album of "Burning of the Midnight Lamp", five months ahead of its placement on Electric Ladyland

LABELS: EXCELLENT+
Clean, unmarked labels with light spindle traces
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT/EXCELLENT+
Apart from a superficial mark on Side Two's "The Stars That Play With Laughing Sam's Dice" (which has no audio impact) the surfaces are clean, unmarked and shine like-new
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Outstanding sound performance throughout - deep, rich, warm and finely detailed - plays beautifully from start to finish with no major audio distractions of any kind - just a touch of surface on the run-ins and some of the track divisions (impossibly minor and barely worth a mention) - sounds sensational
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT++
Lovely example - clean, sharp and fresh with no wear to speak of on the edges and a deep glass-like glossy sheen to the front laminate. There are some light creases to the spine but all text is clear and bold and the back is beautifully clean
INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
Clean, white and unmarked with no seam splits - just some light creasing which no doubt happened when the record was inserted into the sleeve at the factory
ALL RECORDS ARE PACKAGED WITH THE VINYL OUTSIDE OF THE SLEEVE TO PREVENT ANY 'KNIFING' DURING TRANSIT
A PROTECTIVE POLY SLEEVE, NEW INNER SLEEVE WITH ANTI-STATIC LINER, QUALITY BOX (NOT ENVELOPE) MAILER AND AMPLE STIFFENERS ARE ALWAYS USED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR RECORD ARRIVES SAFELY
