The group best known for this DEFINITIVE VERSION of a classic song which managed to be a UK #26 hit and got to #2 in the USA. ALWAYS IN DEMAND-THIS IS THE ULTIMATE COPY TO TREASURE-I DON'T RECALL SEEING THIS AS A DEMO BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS THE BASIC STUFF and NOW HERE'S AN IN DEPTH DESCRIPTION!! . MOST 1960s 45's were played on OLDER equipment with even OLDER styli, Nasty HEAVY PICKUPS, or on cheapo box type players that ENCOURAGED the use of an AUTOCHANGER which would SCUFF any disc in seconds. ANY COPY THAT SURVIVES IN NEAR MINT CONDITION IS A JOY TO BEHOLD AND A MUST FOR ANY SERIOUS BEAT GROUP/EARLY GARAGE ROCK FAN. DEMO RECORDS OF THE EARLY 1960s WERE USUALLY PRESSED UP IN A SMALL QUANTITY OF AROUND 200-250 COPIES ONLY FOR ADVANCE PROMOTION TO RADIO STATIONS/DJs AND REVIEWERS SEVERAL WEEKS BEFORE GENERAL RELEASE.MOST COPIES WERE DAMAGED OR EVEN THROWN AWAY AFTER USE.AS THE YEARS GO ON FEWER COME UP FOR SALE, THOSE THAT SURVIVE ARE IN MOST CASES SAFELY IN THE HANDS OF COLLECTORS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I test on a lightweight pickup of approx 2 grammes and listen with the treble full on and no filtering or mono switch used-I LISTEN IN THE QUIET COMPUTER/MUSIC ROOM/HOME OFFICE Located in a QUIET CUL-DE-SAC AWAY FROM TRAFFIC NOISE/PHONES/SCREAMING BABIES etc. I LISTEN AT A DECENT VOLUME. I LISTEN AS IF I WOULD BE BUYING FOR MYSELF. I AM NOT ONE OF THESE"RIP OFF"MERCHANTS WHO SAY EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL AND SUPER RARE- I TELL IT LIKE IT IS . This was played ONLY about TWO or THREE times but there are NO LOUD CLICKS OR BUMPS INFACT I HARDLY HEARD ANY SURFACE NOISE AT ALL. Just the VISUAL SURFACE MARKS LOWER THE GRADE TO NEAR MINT.THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO WORRY ABOUT !!!!!!!! .I report this AS THE TRUTH. IT IS NOT A 100% PERFECT MINT SOUNDING DISC-BUT NOT FAR BEHIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!REMEMBER,THE VISUAL SURFACE MARKS RESULT IN MY NEAR MINT GRADING. This disc has been selected from the collection of a FORMER BBC RADIO ONE DJ who was sent this in 1963(PYE NEVER MADE MANY DEMOS BEFORE THE "BEAT GROUP"ERA) and has been kept away from light and heat in a series of protective cardboard boxes that house about 50 singles for ALMOST 43 years!!!!!!!!! I WAS PROBABLY THE ONLY OTHER PERSON TO LOOK AT THIS DISC SINCE 1963!!!!!!!!!
