Comments:  "Plastic Man" is a song by The Kinks released in 1969.

It was written and recorded specifically as an attempt at a hit single following a string of previous chart failures.  The plan for a hit backfired when the use of the word 'bum' (in the line "...plastic legs that reach up to his plastic bum") meant that the BBC refused to play the song. The single only managed to reach number 31 in the UK.

The 7" has become a late 60's Kinks rarity, at the time of listing there is the only one other copy on the UK eBay site.
