Description
This is a really unusual and beautiful Kinks item- almost certainly a one off and quite possibly recorded especially for this cut.
A one sided UK 7" acetate of a track called "Happy Birthday Paul" with a spoken intro by Ray Davies which clearly and obviously bursts into a full Kinks tune, Dave on guitar unmistakenly too. It's actually a lovely song- but despite 2 or 3 peoples' efforts we can find nothing about it information wise. But if anyone knows it and it's a ten-a-penny track on this b side or that, do please write. but for a kinks collector it's an absolute gem. comes in a plain white sleeve handwritten "Happy Birthday Paul" written centred on each side.
lovely yet mysterious piece- was suggested it could definitely have been recorded and cut to acetate all under the Konk roof (which I mention cos a guy said he had worked there and it was possible to record and cut an acetate on inhouse cutting lathe) so who knows?!?!
priced high but not a disaster one bit to keep this one... try and find another as they say. offers invited! VG condition
