Description
The Kinks: The Kinks are The Village Green Preservation Society, light blue PYE label, NSPL 18233, stereo, 1968, early pressing.
Bought new by myself in 1968 and kept in a protective polythene cover ever since.
The laminated gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition outside, with just some slight bubbling to the laminate on the front along the spine and a tiny crease in one corner. The rear of the sleeve also has a tiny crease in one corner and residue over the MONO NPL letters where the factory/shop stuck a stereo label. (The record is stereo but the sleeve is mono!).
Inside, the sleeve is almost in near mint condition, bar a slight tear at the top of the spine 1 cms in length.
The gatefold sleeve is unique in that the record does not slip into it from outside, but from the inside.
The inner sleeve is in very good condition.
As for the record itself, it has a high gloss shine, plus the usual superficial marks, although they are mostly invisible except under a bright light and apart from the odd crackle of no more than two or three revolutions duration, they do not detract from the play quality. It is therefore in excellent condition.

Vinyl Gradings:
Mint = no signs of use.
Near Mint = slight signs of use but plays as if new.
Excellent = more signs of use but sound unaffected.
Very Good = as above plus minor background noise that does not unduly detract from overall enjoyment.
Good = as above but with more marks and background noise that is hard to ignore.
Fair = as above plus playback sticks and/or jumps.
Sleeve Gradings:
Mint = as new.
Near Mint = almost as new.
Excellent = minor wear/creases evident around some corners and edges.
Very good = showing more wear/creases but fairly sound without significant markings.
Good = as above plus torn and/or faded.
