This is the 1st UK MONO PRESSING of arguably The Kinks finest Album – released November 1968.
The disc bears the BLUE AND BLACK PYE RECORDS LABEL

Labels: VG+
Both labels are clean and bright, NO writing, stickers or missing sections/tears etc. Spindle marks are present on both sides, but not excessively.
Visual: VG+
Extremely clean, deep gloss playing surface with only a couple of very light surface scuffs that are almost unavoidable even with careful handling of a record this age – these marks are consistent with inner sleeve removal and DO NOT AFFECT PLAYBACK. The disc lies fully flat on the turntable while playing.
Sound Quality: EX
Despite the age of this disc the sound quality is absolutely superb. The mono mix shines through clearly despite the age of this record. I have played this through once for a careful play check and found only light background noise between tracks and a few very light pops on track four of side two - nothing that would detract from the listening experience. This really is a remarkable level of quality for such a sought after item – I have graded conservatively to avoid disappointment.
Cover: VG
This fragile gatefold cover is in superb condition considering its construction. There is some wear on the edges of the front cover where the laminating procedure has not reached right to the edge of the sleeve (common among this LP). There is also a sticker residue in the top left corner of the front cover. The colours on the outer and inner of the gatefold are strong and bright and blemish free. The construction of the gatefold is perfect – still glued firmly. There are some slight creases on the back cover consistent with storage next to other records at some point in its lifetime. The spine is clear and readable and still fully laminated up to all but the very top and bottom edges.
Inner sleeve: VG+
Some very slight age toning and slight evidence of use, but no tears and poly liner still fully in place. Stamped with UK Patent No. 1,072,844 Foreign Patents Pending.
