Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!
I've collected 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!! Obviously, 90% of the LP's I've ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, I've decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there!!! Make no mistake, I'll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!
I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every Wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on Saturday night. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZING, MOST IMPORTANT, VERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered",weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).

I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and I'll always do my very best not to let you down. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE PHENOMENALLY RARE LP, AND A FANTASTIC PLAYING AND SOUNDING EXAMPLE OF THIS MILESTONE IN ROCK!!! THIS TRUE PSYCH MASTERPIECE IS WELL KNOWN FOR SELLING AN ABSOLUTE MINISCULE AMOUNT AS A MONO AND IS THEIR VERY RAREST AND WITHOUT A DOUBT, EASILY THEIR MOST SOUGHT AFTER LP!!!

What an album this is - A Beautiful British Psych Classic!!! LP's like THIS are why we collect records!!! The ONLY way you should hear this is in it's STUNNING Mono mix - the drums on the mono Big Sky are utterly OUTRAGEOUS!!! And that's just one tiny example!!! Like all classic LP's, each song sounds as if it was written around the same exact period and it just flows together beautifully - not a bad track or sore thumb in sight!!! Definitely their greatest LP and ridiculously hard to find as a mono!!!

Labels :

Classic UK 1st Press blue Mono Pye labels!!! Both sides are FANTASTIC with minimal signs of age, NO writing, NO stickers, and NO tears whatsoever!!! Just has a small amount of ultra light spindle marks from general light use over the years!!! AWESOME for a 50 year old record!!! Both must grade overall at least as Very Good!!!

Record : Visual -

Spectacular Ultra Thick Original UK 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks GREAT with NO really nasty scratches OR nasty deep scuffs whatsoever!!! The only blemishes are just some light wispy sleeve traces, a few mild hairlines and age marks, an ever so slightly uneven quality to the vinyl (100% cosmetic, truly minor with absolutely no effect on smoothness of playback whatsoever) and just a small amount of cosmetic non-sounding and unfeelable scuffs (only visible in direct angled light) mostly caused from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these ULTRA light blemishes really interfere with play AT ALL thanks to the deeply pressed quality!!! BRILLIANT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall at the least as Very Good minus!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Record : Audio -

Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds incredible with NO hisses, hops, distortion, sticks OR skips!!! Only like pretty much ALL records has just a mere touch of the lightest crackle on the very rarest of occasions and only a few light ticks here and there on rare occasions, and only merest hint of low level ultra light "bluesman's fag" atmospheric static in few and far between places such as on some of the quieter sections like the run in grooves and between some tracks e.t.c, but it TRULY doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! And that's truly about it!!! The vast, vast majority of the music is ultra clear and sounds ABSOLUTELY AWESOME with that bass, depth, warmth and clarity you can only get from 1st Press UK vinyl!!! An outstanding listen! Absolutely ESSENTIAL!! ASTONISHING for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audibly at least as Very Good++++!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Sleeve :

Original UK 1st press 1968 laminated gatefold Pye sleeve and complete with original inner!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT too bad at all, and looks GREAT, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO writing OR graffiti, and still beautifully presentable after all these years!!! Only has usual ageing such as some creasing and laminate lifting with evidence of a fold crease down the middle of the front (the only thing which stops me grading this any higher, still ultra strong and solid) and a hint of a record imprint, one or two minor knocks and a little rubbing and wear to rare parts of the edges from storage (nothing overly drastic at all, spine 100% readable), some wear and rounding to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by listing the most minor negatives I can possibly find, but this remains a brilliantly presentable sleeve for this very fragile LP, and a rarity to find one with the artwork as awesome, undulled and beautifully vibrant and as flat as this - most have been heavily torn, virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! The unlaminated inside looks awesome too!!! It remains strong, solid and unspoilt, and even the spine remains strong, solid, unsplit and 100% readable!!! Must grade overall at the least as Good+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Summary : A used but FANTASTIC playing example of this INCREDIBLY RARE psych masterpiece original 1968 UK 1st Press LP!!! Hard to find in ANY condition, but SERIOUSLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS SONICALLY AWESOME AS THIS!!! YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!! Bid now!!!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
