Please NOTE:
Some of my PHOTOS suffer from LOW LIGHT lighting conditions (due to very cloudy / rainy days recently).
This causes unavoidable grain and spottiness in image, particularly on dark covers / labels and especially the vinyl.
I apologize for that and assure all bidders that such grain/spots are Digital Artifacts only - are not actually present
on these LP Covers / labels / vinyl themselves at all  - and DO NOT properly represent the true condition.
My camera simply is not able to resolve fine detail in low light ...especially on the vinyl grooves.

In any such case, please always refer to the written grade and description for accurate condition details.
*some of the vinyl is appearing like unearthed ancient archeological artifacts or mars-scapes (!)
If this could have been at all avoided it would have been. ...hopefully new camera soon!

Please see my FEEDBACK and bid with complete confidence.

REPRISE Records RS 6327
early 1970's Orange/Tan Label issue • Stereo LP

VINYL is NM/NM-
Exceptionally clean, full gloss vinyl has a very few faint sleeve wisps on Side 1, visible under hard bright light, that are inaudible. Side 2 is Near Mint with no marks. Super clean labels with no spindle marks. Side 1 label has a bit of uneven sheen to paper finish, label side 2 is pristine.
.
COVER is EX+
Crisp, tight gatefold is very minty with faint, barely noticeable, shelfwear on front. Inside gatefold is pristine and has never been opened out further than what you see in photo ...it will still 'creak' if opened any flatter. Back cover is near-pristine - mere hint of wear at very top. Straight edges and sharp corners all around. Seams and smooth, flat, even spine are 100% intact with no wear or splits.

STRICT CONSERVATIVE GOLDMINE GRADING
NM / EX(VG++) / VG+ / VG

MAJOR CONTENDER for the BEST ROCK ALBUM EVER RECORDED
Most days it gets my vote, though there are days when the predecessor "SOMETHING ELSE" wins out.

?Not the ultimate 1st press, but an early one - and a very nice one indeed.

MATRIX NUMBERS
?Side One: RS-1-6327 JW-2 #1
?Side Two: RS-2-6327 LW1 . 1
The last "1" of Side Two Matrix is stamped sideways.

I could not imagine, at the time, that anything (from Raymond Douglas Davies, let alone anybody else) could out-do 1967's "Something Else by The Kinks" - and indeed, spoiled and prejudiced from that LP, I at first found VILLAGE GREEN to be 'rather dry'. But it grew - and grew and grew - on me until I was simply astounded at all the subtle complexities - both in the music itself and in the stories Ray spun through it all. ...and the feel, well words won't do to describe the atmosphere, perspective, emotional breadth and depth of all that intangible goodness. Perhaps the crown jewel of The Golden Age of The Kinks*.

*the "Golden Age of The Kinks" is generally considered to be 1966, beginning with Face to Face, and running through ARTHUR (1969) with some choice precursors and select later works -many of which were not on regular KINKS albums at all - only turning up on compilations i.e.: Autumn Almanac, The Great Lost Kinks album, or Kink Kronikles - on the Percy soundtrack - or as rare B-sides, some only issued in 1 or 2 countries. For instance: ever heard the single B-SIDE version of "Scrapheap City"? Wayyy-yyy-y different than the (Presevation Act 2) album version and perhaps the biggest contender for latest (1973) of the greatest. Its simply a revelation; found (hah!! good luck!) only as the flip side to the USA commercial version of "One Of The Survivors", itself a throwaway song, though the PROMOS of that single presented 'Survivors' twice (Mono / Stereo) - and left Ray's incredible gift of Scrapheap City off completely. If it has a WHITE label, it will NOT have Scrapheap City. Prepare to pay at least $75 - up to $125 to get one of the commercially released RCA 45rpm 7" single (RCA 74-0940 ... and STEREO both sides!) in any kind of condition - and no, I don't have an extra one to sell.

But here, on Village Green, is the Motherlode, the spiritual, magnetic and musical heart-and-center of all of Kinkdom.
Don't let it get away
