THE KINKS “Are the Village Green Preservation Society” original UK PYE Stereo lp

1968/UK/Pye NSPL 18233…..here’s a rare original UK STEREO pressing of this highly regarded gem. The laminated gatefold cover is clean and solid VG+ to VG++ condition. The corners have all been bumped and are lightly creased, soft lower left corner, there is minor laminate lifting on the left side and small on the right side corners, there are a handful of longer thin laminate lifts on the front and back covers, they are not actual creases in the cover, just the laminate, the cover is clean and glossy, stereo sticker on back upper right corner. The inner gatefold is clean but has a small surface tear at the top left side, nothing major really. Looks nice! The vinyl is in strong VG++  condition with a few very light inaudible whispy scuffs from the inner sleeve. The record plays clean with little noise. The labels are clean with a couple of light spindle marks. A rare and very nice original UK pressing! Please check my auctions for other psych and rock lp’s. The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society is the sixth studio album by the English rock group The Kinks, released in November 1968. It was the last album by the original quartet, as bassist Pete Quaife left the group in early 1969. A collection of thematic vignettes of English town and hamlet life, The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society was assembled from songs written and recorded over the previous two years. Allmusic senior editor Stephen Thomas Erlewine described Village Green as a "concept album lamenting the passing of old-fashioned English traditions."

The record is widely considered one of the most influential and important works by The Kinks, and of the period as a whole. Although it failed to chart upon release, with estimated worldwide sales at 100,000 copies, The Village Green Preservation Society has become one of the band's best selling and most popular records. In 2003, the album was ranked number 255 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
