Description

Very pleased to be able to offer two records (this and my previous one) which come along less often than something which doesn't come along very often - your team winning a trophy for instance....

I am given to understand this is Powerpop - don't know about that but it is a cracking cover of a Beatles tune. From 1978 by The Limit it is Please Please Me b/w My World At Night on the Private Stock label PVT 156 and is in superb EX+ condition.
A quick look through t'internet casts doubt whether this was ever released as a stock copy and may only have been available as a demo - well this is a stock copy and what a beauty.

Don't take my word for it, this is a couple of experts....

"An awesome punked up version of some old 60?s classic. The b-side is their own number and is a great tune too but dosen?t beat the cover. But who where The Limit? I?ve heard rumours they?ve later became The Dark. My World At Night is composed by Barron Rocca and both tracks is produced by John Springate if this is some help for anybody to give me more info on this mystery release. I?ve seen this record twice and I don?t know if it was properly released?"

"A very rare Powerpop single issued in summer 1978 by a group formed in 1977 as The Freebies, under which moniker the tracks were originally recorded. Having secured a deal with Private Stock Records, The Freebies became The Limit just prior to the release of the 7?, which coupled a pleasant re-vamp of The Beatles? 1963 hit with the far superior self-penned flipside MY WORLD AT NIGHT, a Powerpop foot-stomper with classic hookline, performed with contagious energy and impeccably produced by John Springate. Criminally ignored by the press, the platter sold poorly, but now enjoys deserved cult status. Following the premature demise of The Limit in spring 1979, guitarist Dennis Perdicou would later resurface in Punk combo The Dark (see listing)."
