Description
I used to work for the guys who ran Solid Smoke Records. They were a class act who really loved old music, a boutique label out of San Francisco who loved helping people rediscover undeservedly obscure old music, especially soul and R&B/doo wop. The Manhattans, of course, became very famous in the 1970s. These are their earlier, mid-1960s cuts: kinda midway between doo wop type stuff and soul. A really great collection, packaged in a gorgeous gatefold album with Solid Smoke's usual interesting liner notes. And, this pressing came out in green vinyl! SUPER rare and hard to find, in near mint condition--jacket and vinyl both. Enjoy!
