The Manhattans - Tossin' and Turnin' / Night after Night
Ultra-Sonic (Acetate)
Condition: VG plays fine both sides (no groove loss), many marks and high background noise (as all acetates of this type have)
Came across this acetate recently in a collection and I don't believe either of these tracks has ever been comped. They're compelling '64/'65 beat tracks. I'm pretty sure this is the same group as "Andy & the Manhattans" from Omaha, Nebraska who had 2 45s on Musicor that are musically pretty similar; they also recorded as the Buggs on Soma. I only played each side once (to record them). I think a competent masterer can restore these sides to releasable quality pretty easily! Side A is a cover of the R'n'B standard; the b side may be a cover, not sure, but I like it a bit better somehow (cool guitar break).
