Description
This is a VERY RARE ORIGINAL VINYL LP of The Million Dollar Quartet released in 1981 by Charly/Sun Records issue 1006. Very rare as it was limited due to a lawsuit by RCA against SUN claiming that RCA owned Elvis' voice.
These were the first release of impromptu jam sessions at Sun Records Studios on December 4th, 1956 with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash. It was arguably the first supergroup.
It took 30 years for any of these recordings saw the light of day and when they did, RCA slapped a lawsuit on SUN as they claimed they owned Elvis voice so this initial release was quite limited. The record is in excellent condition and I don't believe it has ever been played. The sleeve on the other hand has creases on the right and left sides about 5" inches. This record was bought from the estate of Lee Cotton who wrote several books on Elvis. The booklet has yellowed from age and has a water stain in the lower left corner about 2" inches long. The booklet shows different records and other things that you could collect of Elvis'. It does have the picture of the photo from the: The Million Dollar Quartet-record. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
