Description
I have recently acquired this single from a relative of mine who used to collect rare records.It is a 1961 orange London label demo copy of Shop Around b/w Who`s Lovin` You by The Miracles.Those of you who know the history of Motown in the UK,will know that until the mid-sixties their releases were issued on other labels such as London,Oriole and Stateside as the company did not have a licencing deal in this country.This single is the first release by The Miracles,later to be Smokey Robinson & The Miracles.Incredibly,it was not a UK hit.This copy is a demo,and has the words Demonstration Sample Not For Sale printed on the label below the London logo on both sides.My relative got this record new,as he used to be a record company rep in the sixties,and it has never been played,therefore it is in immaculate condition.I doubt you will find another copy,let alone a demo,in this kind of condition very easily.I am sorry the photo is not clearer,but I dont have a scanner.As you will see if you check my feedback,im an honest seller with a lot of positive feedback,and I will be happy to answer any qustions you may have.Those of you who know your Motown will know how rare this single is,which is reflected in my starting price.I will re-iterate once more,this record has never been played.The winning bidder will be sent the record by recorded delivery,so the postage price reflects this.
