Description

THE MONKEES, two LPs, Meet the Monkees, & HEAD, original first issue UK stereo LPs.

1. THE MONKEES, Meet the Monkees, original first issue UK 1966

stereo debut LP.

SF 7844, original first issue UK 1966 stereo ‘red dot’ RCA Victor record labels.

A first issue UK 1966 album in original condition, featuring:

1. THE MONKEES, Meet the Monkees, original first issue UK 1966, debut LP,

2. most copies of, ‘Meet the Monkees’, made back in late 1966 were in mono, this is a hard to find ‘stereo’ copy,

3. earliest ‘COLGEMS’ stereo sleeve error, as the text ‘COLGEMS’ was accidentally ‘left off’ these early stereo sleeves. The text, ‘COLGEMS’ should have appeared on the front, bottom right corner of the sleeve,

4. earliest ‘Jeans’ error on the rear of the sleeve, the sleeves were soon corrected to read, ‘Genes’, for the track, ‘Papa Genes Blues’,

5. original first issue UK 1966 earliest record matrix of, TZRS 4689 1K and TZRS 4690 1K,

6. a ‘deep groove’ record, that is noticeable when the record is tilted to the light,

7. the record features the earliest ‘mothers’, of ‘1’ and ‘1’,

8. original first issue UK 1966, red dot, RCA Victor, ‘made in England’ record labels, featuring:

a. ‘ridged’ record labels,

b. the earliest, ‘Times Roman’ font,

9. comes with its original period, associated ‘RCA Victor’, Made in England, ‘care for your record’ and ‘IMPORTANT’ stereo ‘pick up’ notes, inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition. The sleeve is laminated on the front. The spine is in very good+ condition and all of the text on the spine is readable. Theres NO pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a 10mm tear to the rear opening edge.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period associated ‘RCA Victor’, inner sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: each side of the record is in near excellent condition. The record is made from the quality period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: TZRS 4689 1K and TZRS 4690 1K, the earliest UK stereo record matrix,

The mother / stampers are: ‘1 M’ and ‘1 K’, the earliest ‘mothers’ you can get. On side two there are also the letters ‘KT’ engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove.

THE AUDIO: each side plays excellent. On side two, I did hear some light ‘ticks’ for a short time on track four. Each side plays with a full powerful period, stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in very good++ condition. Side two is in excellent condition. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

and

2. original first issue UK 1968 earliest record matrix of, WZRS 53891 and WZRS 5390-1,

3. on the record labels the records matrix reads as, ‘WZRS 5389’ and ‘WZRS 5390’, but engraved onto the records ‘run off’ grooves are, ‘WZRS 53891’ and ‘WZRS 5390-1’,

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good condition. The condition of the sleeve would have been graded higher but there is a sellotape repair to the bottom edge and some ‘text’ and ‘colour’ loss to the rear, bottom edge. The sleeve is laminated on the front. The spine is in very good condition and all of the text on the spine is readable. There are NO tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There are two small area of blue pen on the rear of the sleeve.
