Description
The vinyl on both sides of this album is clean and shiny , with some minor paper scuffs from being taken in and out of the cover. Both labels are clean with no writing or stickers, however there is a slight stain around the edge of both labels, probably from coming into contact with record cleaning liquid. Both sides play loud and clear, with only a minimal amount of low level surface noise on the lead in tracks and between the tracks, masked while the music is playing. The album is recorded in true stereo, not re channeled, and all tracks play with a crisp clean stereo sound(VG) The cover is thick card board, with no creases or splits. The front is clean, however there is a small mark (1cm x 5mm) towards the water's edge in the bottom right hand side of the photograph, most likely from a label being removed, and the cover photo edge has some remnants on the left hand side and the bottom, that were not properly trimmed. The back cover is slightly discoloured around the edges from storage, but is still clean and there is no writing on the front or back cover(VG-) I have had great difficulty finding any significant information about this band, other than that they were active in Scarsdale NY from 1963 to 1965. The music is all instrumentals, there is an audio clip of the title track "Surfers' Holiday" on you tube if you want to get an idea of their sound, which includes a sax in the line up. If you search for this make sure you include the hyphen in the name Nep-tunes there are several bands with the name Neptunes. This record is RARE and sought after by surf music fans. It was issued in mono and stereo formats, the stereo being the rarest.
