THE NIGHTRIDERS
" IT'S ONLY THE DOG "
b/w
" YOUR FRIEND "
on the POLYDOR RECORDS Lable cat# 56116 from 1966
ORIGINAL & RARE SINGLE-RELEASE!
As Mike Sheridan's band, these lads were already a seasoned and excellent pop group.
However, while cutting their teeth in the 'Brumbeat' circuit, when Merseybeat was eclipsing everything else - their desires were satiated when they got around to issuing their own single here on Polydor.
There have been few copies that have turned up, so it's a rare one alright.
A kind of rock'n roll 'spoof' with attitude, they seem like they must have been having fun recording this mover! What's not to like? It's as good to listen to.
MOVE founder Roy Wood was associated as a member of this band for a period.
The vinyl is VG, overall a decent play but scuff evident and the centre has been punched out or 'dinked' as they say.
The Lables grade VG- condition, with some pen and felt-tip writing - a date is included so I suspect this could have been a 'Promo' copy for radio or review at the time.
Original Polydor sleeve included.
Don't miss this rarely seen release - few have appeared on the market
