The Outlaws - Dream Of The West.
HMV Records CLP 1489.
Very Rare Joe Meek (aka Robert Duke) RGM production.
Features a young 17 year-old Chas Hodges on bass guitar.
Rare Original UK Mono Issue, circa 1961; on the Purple / Gold Nipper label.
Only sold in small quantities.
All instrumentals of 'Wild West' titled themes, apart from some howling and yee-ha's from the 'Cowboys'.
Also some nice echoing gun-shots.
Condition Vinyl: VG/VG
There are a few light marks, mainly hairlines, nothing feelable, and the LP has a nice sheen still.
Fully Play tested - sounds great. Audio is clear,
There are a few isolated pops mainly during the first track of each side.
Side One Track One features a few repeated clicks..
Crackle during both run in's and more audible at the beginning of each side, and mild crackle between tracks.
A professional clean may benefit the quality.
One of the labels has wear, from sticker removal.
Condition Sleeve: FAIR
The sleeve front is in nice shape, but sadly there is damage and severe wear to the reverse, seemingly from water ingress.
As a consequence, segments of the sleeve notes are illegible.
Some delamination to the opening edges also, albeit minor.
There is also some clear tape applied to lower flipback, and a sticker to top left.
Please see photos for the sleeve condition.
