Description
Artist: THE OYSTER BAND
Title: 20 GOLDEN TIE-SLACKENERS
Format: LP
Label: PUKKA Records, Kent, UK (YOP 06)
Year: 1984
Style: folk
Info: Nice original private press LP featuring the talents of John Jones, Ian Kearey, Alan Prosser, Chris Taylor and Ian Telfer.
This is not a record of the Oyster Band's favourite tunes, exactly. It's a record of some of the tunes we've most enjoyed playing over the years for people to dance to - which is a rather different matter, and is why it includes grand old chestnuts besides things you'll probably not have heard before.
Comes in original picture sleeve and is complete with plain die-cut paper inner sleeve.
12 tracks:-
-side 1:
KENTISH CRICKETERS / GALOPEDE
THE BELFAST ALMANAC / FOLKESTONE FOR THE DAY
THREE JOLLY SHEEPSKINS / SPEED THE PLOUGH
MRS FORSTERS / THE FIRST OF MAY
DUMBARTON CASTLE / 'TWAS WITHIN A MILE
NOT THE FIERY CLOCKFACE
-side 2:
P's / J's
JACK'S ALIVE / THE CLARE JIG
GO AND ENLIST
SPAGHETTI JUNCTION / DIXIE'S / STACK RYAN'S
THE REDOWA POLKA
LA MORISQUE
Vinyl in near mint condition - looks immaculately clean and nicely shiny. Has been played but not a great deal. Side 2 has one light hairline scuff but this does not affect play.
Sleeve in very good+ condition due to a slight split in the top spine, but otherwise looks clean and tidy with just a small amount of light general wear.
Inner sleeve has a very small coffee stain in one corner but otherwise is near mint and could easily pass as brand new.
I have just acquired a big collection of folk and Irish folk records which i will be selling here on ebay in the coming weeks, so please check my other auctions and ebay shop..! I am also selling several Oyster Band and related rare LP's which were originally owned by Ian Telfer's parents, and have been very well looked after.
Will be posted in strong professional packaging to avoid damage in transit.
I do combined shipping rates if you are thinking of buying more than one item.
Shipping to outside of UK in Europe is £3.50 / USA is £5.50 / Japan and Australia is £5.75
